Jasmine (Max's Sweetie)
July, 2007 to December 25, 2008
Memorial Tribute to Jazz
Jasmine decided she just couldn't survive without her bonded mate, Maxwell. Being an albino rabbit, she was partially deaf and we always "thumped" loudly before entering the bunny room if her back was to us so she'd be aware we were there.
Maxwell "Max" (Jasmine's Sweetie)
July, 2007 to October 1, 2008
Memorial Tribute to Max
Maxwell "Max" was Jasmine's bonded mate and was considered her caretaker.
Jasmine and Max ~ Their Story
Max and Jasmine were Rescue Bunnies and were adopted when they were 3-1/2 years old. When we adopted them, we were told how Max was the curious one and Jasmine would follow him anywhere. Ahhh, how soon we found out that Jazz was the curious one, trying out new rooms and toys. We had bought them a split level condo from KW Cages, and she was up exploring her new level in a day! (Took Max two weeks). They loved playing and doing "Binkies" in their yard and spending time being held by their humans. They both were extremely fond of rose petals. This was their special treat.
On September 28, 2008 Max stopped eating and we rushed him over to All Creatures Animal Hospital, where we spent four days (from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.) in the bunny ward with him. The X-Ray showed he had an intestinal obstruction that was inoperable. Each night we'd come home and spend time with Jasmine. On the 4th day he stopped breathing, we moved him into an i.c.u. chamber. He held on for a little bit but his body was already in "shut down" phase. We gave him our love and said our goodbyes.
We watched Jasmine very closely during the next ten weeks and spent additional quality time with her, hoping she could survive without Max.
About at the 10-week mark, she lost her will to live even though we had spent every day and night with her.
You both were very special to us, we planted a "Double Delight" Rose bush just for you sweeties!
Merlyn (aka Gomez)
December, 1998 to November 12, 2006
Adopted September 6, 1999
Memorial Tribute to Merlyn, The Magical Bunny
Merlyn was the best bunny rabbit. He was eight years old, was a very loving, playful and curious little guy. He also was very smart, he would play tag with the cat, come running when I went shopping, play fetch (when he wanted to)… Just a loveable bunn who will be missed very much…
Merlyn was adopted from the folks at Rabbit Rescue in Downey, California
Merlyn was quite a character up to the day he passed over. I knew something was up - he was acting a little off and I realized his body was in "shut down" mode. I spent the day with him stroking him, telling him what a good bunny he was and that it was okay to just let go (broke my heart, tears running down my face). About two hours before he died, he crawled up into my lap, reached up and put his front paws on each of my shoulders and kissed my face (bunny hugg). He was just a wonderful bunn, full of nature's magic and is still missed very much to this day.
Pandy-Pande
August, 2002 to August, 2004
Memorial Tribute to Pande,
aka Pandemonium; aka Pandora
Pande gave everyone unconditional love from August 16, 2002 to August 20, 2004.
This was a sweetheart of a bunn. He was most curious about everything, loved climbing (to my horror); took care of his best bunn, Merlyn; and he enjoyed sitting in the narrow space between windows and their screens.
He traveled with his adopted brother, Merlyn to Arizona. He loved to do his bunny dance (a "binkie" - running fast and turning mid-air), and had also discovered that the strange wall in the backyard in Long Beach was not a 4-foot wall but a pool (and yes, bunnies do swim... they bunny-paddle).
Unfortunately, nothing slowed this little guy down, nor would he be intimidated. After moving to El Segundo the Summer of 2004, he dug out of his area one day (he hadn't dug for over a year and a half, so I thought he had outgrown digging), and unfortunately there was a standard poodle on the other side. I can only hope it was quick and not too painful. I am thankful that his brother, Merlyn stayed behind where he belonged. I am not too sure how much the bunns understand, but I do miss Pande bunches, and I am sure his adopted brother, Merlyn does also.
Rest peacefully sweetie
